Hello everyone or should I say good morning! Today I’m here to share my morning routine for the work week.
Now I can’t really say that I’m actually morning person. In fact, if you asked me, I would say that I’ve always been more of a night owl. Given the fact that I have a job that I have to wake up early for each day, I try to think of little ways to save time and maximize my routine each morning.
1.) Prep everything ahead of time.
Now if you’re anything like me, there’s about a million things that need to be done in the morning to set you up for the day. To make the most of my time, I actually start my morning routine the night before. Every night before I go to bed, I make sure to pick out my outfit for work, pack my lunch, fill up my Britta water bottle, prep my breakfast smoothie with all dry ingredients, and grind my espresso for the next morning’s latte. These small things help to make it so I can just go into autopilot in the morning while reducing stress.
2.) Start getting ready in the dark.
Getting ready in the dark is a relatively new add on to my routine. I used to always leave my bedroom, go into the bathroom first thing in the morning, and start getting ready. Recently, I realized that having this bright light on when I’m still half asleep was making me miserable. Instead, I now start getting ready in the bathroom with the light off. This lets me get all the easy things done like brushing my teeth and washing my face out of the way while waking myself up. This has been a simple tweak but one that has made a big difference in terms of how I feel.
3.) Make myself a latte.
Now I’m what we might call a caffeine addict. I can’t start my day without it. So, every morning I take the time to make myself a fresh latte and enjoy it while I’m going about my morning routine. As soon as my latte is made I start brewing more espresso that I bring with me to work for what will later be my iced latte when I get into the office.

4.) Blend it up.
After making my latte my next step is to blend my smoothie. Since I always pack all the dry ingredients the night before, adding in plant milk and blending is super quick and easy. After blending, I just pack it in my bag with my lunch, water, and other snacks to go.
5.) Get dressed and do makeup.
This step is pretty self-explanatory and pretty monotonous to be honest. I always have my outfit ready to go the night before so it’s just a matter of putting it on and coordinating which shoes would go best. I do however, like to switch it up and have fun with my accessories and makeup in the morning depending on my mood.
6.) Take my dog for a walk
So, this is probably my favorite part of my morning routine and the easiest. Depending on time, my morning walk with my dog can differ but I always make sure to put on the most recent chapter of my book or podcast to enjoy it even more. Then when I get back, I set out fresh food and water for my dog and then head out the door and continue my podcast or book on my drive into work.
Wrap Up
So that’s been my morning routine. I think being able to do as much prep work in advance the night before has definitely helped me to save time and really enjoy things as much as possible as I start my day. Now that I shared my morning routine, why don’t you share yours below. Do you have any suggestions or things you swear by? Tell me below!
